Policies & Procedures
If you are interested in reserving a puppy from our current litter, or to be prioritized for a future litter, please fill out a Puppy Application Form and place a $200 non refundable deposit which can be made by Cash, Check, or Credit Card, and fill out the Wait List form. Puppies are adoptable at any age but will not be released until eight to ten weeks of age.
If you would like to join the Wait List, without reserve or deposit, please fill out the Wait List form, to be contacted once the deposit reserve lists are met.
*Please note: adopters desiring their puppies' tails to remain intact (undocked) need to make prior arrangements to the litter's arrival, to ensure such.

Tail docking
Done within the first 2-3 days after birth, by a breeder or veterinarian. It is a cosmetic procedure, for the purpose to create the distinctive Doberman stubby tail appearance. While some argue it helps prevent tail injuries, it's generally considered unnecessary. Docking a tail is a standard requirement for a show dog of the breed. In the UK, it is a breed standard to not dock them, and is prohibited.
Ear cropping
Under general anesthesia, part of the floppy ear cartilage is removed, for posting, or braced up taping, to help them stand upright during healing and molding (about 4-8 months), to create a pointy eared permanent appearance. Done between 10 and 12 weeks of age, before the cartilage fully hardens. NEVER after 12 weeks of age.
Historically, ear cropping was believed to protect Dobermans from being grabbed during dog fights.
Also done to adhere to the breed standard, which specifies that Dobermans should have cropped ears. While some owners prefer the upright appearance, others do not. In the UK, it is the breed standard to not crop them.

Deposits & Payments
Deposits are nonrefundable, no exceptions, and is a binding contract once you submit the deposit. There are absolutely no refunds on deposit money nor purchase money on any puppy. No exceptions and it is a binding contract once you submit payments. Contract is a private treaty contract and is binding. After a depositor skips their turn 3 times, (available puppies offered, from three consecutive litters) if we do not get a response from a depositor after 3 attempts or if it has been more then 18 months since your initial deposit then your deposit can be forfeited.
Picking up Your Puppy, Financial Transaction
Your puppy must be paid for in full before the puppy leaves, when picking up, or having your puppy flight nanny transported to you. This means you have to either pay for the puppy ahead of time using a check, credit card, bank wire, Apple Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, Zelle and Klarna, or bring cash with you the day of pick up.
Ear Cropping Policy
We do not crop ears at this time. That will be the new owner's choice and responsibility.
We will supply you with a contact list of licensed, talented veterinarians in Idaho and neighboring states who do and will help you.
Ear cropping occurs between 10 to 12 weeks for easier healing and a better chance of the ears standing properly as the puppy grows. The older the puppy, the shorter the crop. Never crop ears after 12 weeks old. Ear posting and care will be the responsibility of the adoptee.
Return Policy
If for any reason, you decide to not keep your puppy, once purchased and adopted, be they a grow out juvenile, or an adult dog purchased from us, we require him/her back, without a refund. However, there must be a clear health check by your veterinarian before we do. Applies to the original puppy, the original puppy as a grow out, to that original puppy as an adult only and is non-transferable. The owner is responsible for transportation costs to and from the surrender meet-up location.
Any claims of illness related to genetics must show and submit a veterinary report and documented proof of the claimed affliction or defect as evidential and proven by a licensed veterinarian and testing lab. Our program is also attempting to strengthen the breed as a whole and such information would be a helpful guidepost for our program and for the Doberman Diversity Project's research.
Behavioral and Intuitive Services
Having spent a combined thirty years in veterinary care, behavioral training, dog whispering, wildlife rescue and animal intuitive services, our owner is in the unique position to offer K-9 behavioral training and intuitive services upon request. These services are separate, and are not included in the price of your puppy's purchase. Phone consultations, long distance and home visits available. Please see our Additional Services menu.
Visits & Pick Ups
We are not open to the public. We sell puppies directly to the consumer. Pre-adoption visits are on an individual basis only for committed, deposited buyers. Puppy pickups are by appointment and agreed upon meet-up locations only. Puppy are immediately available for hold or sale, but will not be released until they are eight to ten weeks old. Colored collars are used to identify each puppy from birth, to monitor their progress individually and reserve them for their new owners. Free delivery and meet-ups are available in Idaho's Treasure Valley, Magic Valley, Sun Valley, and in Boise County. A licensed and insured escort flight nanny from Happy Pets Flight Nanny here in Idaho, will transport our puppies long distances in state, or to other states in the Continental US. They will fly in cabin with your crated and monitored pup, ensuring them a seat on the flight, as safe and stress free as possible, attending to their needs. See our Additional Services page for quotes.
Puppy Selection Process
We home a litter in order of deposits by date. However, we take into consideration the gender, color and temperament that the purchaser is looking for. We try to match up the puppy selections as best we can with the new owner. This is to help insure the proper fit for a lifetime. We do not allow people to handle the litter of puppies. The only puppy that they will be handling is their own, upon adoption, for pre-vaccination safety concerns.
We do not sell first come first serve. We take part in the puppy picking process, aid you and consider your specific needs, and the puppy's as well, to insure best possible life for both the pup and you. We take great pride in our breeding program and want to make sure to give each pup the best chance at a good family home. The $200 deposit to reserve a puppy is non-refundable because we want a “committed” buyer, not someone who is hastily looking for a pup. Our pups are $2,500 and are sold with limited to restricted registration. We accept cash, check, credit card and bank wire, Apple Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, Zelle and Klarna.
Lifetime Breeder Support
For the lifetime of your pet purchased from us, we are here to help and give you advice in any way that we can with our extensive experience and knowledge. However, if your puppy, or dog is having a medical issue or emergency please first contact your veterinarian for help and advice and assistance. We, and our owner, are not certified veterinarians.
Ear Posting
The process of keeping ears taped in an upright position after the ear cropping. Done around 10-12 weeks of age, taking advantage of when the ear cartilage begins to harden, making it easier to shape the ears into an upright position through posting.
Consistent posting is crucial during this hardening phase to prevent the ears from folding down or creasing permanently.
The duration of posting can vary depending on the individual dog and the desired ear stance, but it can continue for 4-6 months or longer. Typically around 8 months.
